I'm back from Disneyland. It was wonderful. Disney-licious. I gained back four of the five pounds I've lost. How does that happen? I walked for 6 hours, for two days straight, but I gained weight. Whatever. Pictures to come, as soon as I get mine.
So, here's a question. What does one do when one's life turns out to be not at all what one had planned?

To tell the truth, the older I get, the more I realize that this is the reality for most people. Somewhere, or in some aspect of everyone's life, things just don't turn out the way they plan.
How we respond to this bitter disappointment will determine our life satisfaction.
I think it becomes a matter of focus: Will we focus on all that we have, or will we focus on all that we have not? Gratitude allows us to live an alternate plan with happiness.
This is a great topic and has my mind churning. Thank you.
Laurel, that's a beautiful piece of writing, and accurate, I believe.
ekb, my love, this doesn't have anything to do with not seeing Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather at Disney, does it??
JK, Lil' Sis.
I would also like to say "amen" to what Laurel said. So eloquent and so true. Bravo Laurel, bravo.
As a matter of fact, I did see Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. So there.
Hey, EKB I was thinking of a great article by Neil A. Maxwell called Irony: The Hard Crust on the Bread of Adversity. It's one that I have remembered and refer to when I'm feeling that life has taken a rough turn. You might find it interesting.
